I like the commitment of this site to beautiful music and the arts. The only thing missing is a playlist. I'd love to know about the musicians and the artists involved in Julian's Flight, perhaps a staff's page, just to get to know who you guys are. Altogether, this site is a wonderful concept, your dedication shows through.
Best wishes and long live!

this is such a fresh take on music.
Consistently tasteful, song after song.
Hoping this develops even more.
I will be listening.

Thank You Elvie -
The Flight has come a long way as it is : )
So many ideas ... so little time.
One thing though --- The music and images here will always be beautiful (from our pov) ... uncomplicated, timeless (because they won't ever be popular) ... most of all melodically harmonic.
peace + thanks

I wish the Flight and its captain a very good (so: very musical) 2010. Keep up the good work.
All the best from Holland.
JF Admin.:
Icy Holland eh? : )
Try Orlando these days Pauley.
Today, when i looked out the window it seemed like I was looking through a piece of diamond --- all crackly and to top that a grey day ... hehe!
5 years Pauley ... still Flying The Flight. It has turned into some kind of a friend to me. (as I was telling Greg) ... a very demanding friend who asks for the best Visual/Musical food you can feed it ...haha!
Oh btw. Metheny's "Orchestrion" promises to be one of his best work ever. Paul, I've heard things on SPIRIT OF THE AIR that I've never before heard anywhere ... Just the intro leading to the first crescendo alone was loaded with impossibly beautiful subtle chords ... this is not human anymore what this man is doing. His connection to his art is crystal and can only be achieved with an obsession for perfecting "The Beautiful" ... How ask Metheny man ... haha!
Man, thanks Paul ... I still play the CDs you've sent. Means a lot to me my friend.
Of course all the very best to the better half : ) --- Sandra.
take care my friend.
I keep you in here always.

Paul:
Thanks for the kind and wise words, my friend.
The few snippets I heard from Orchestrion are still unfolding to me, just like the best of Pat Metheny always does to me: generally revealing its beautiful and breathtaking secrets. The cd is ordered and I will watch and hear him play coming February in Holland, thankfully. It will be a devastating happening (to the senses and the emotions), I'm sure. Very much looking forward to that performance. And quite curious how he will manage to play the music all on his own. Quite a marvel.
I'm glad to read you're still in contact with Greg (which I am myself too). He's a great person and a fabulous musician.
Enjoy that crystal day in Orlando, bud.

Hello my dear friend Julian
Thanks a lot for your kind and warm comment on my MS page, its highly appreciated! I´m sorry to hear about your computer problems on MS, well it can really be “fucked up” this internet sometimes, can´t it?
Well I sure hope that you will find a way to make it function, because your fine and wise comments are truly very missed on myspace!… …but I know that its hard times for many people in these days, so we just have to carry on the best we can, and share our love and affection and human kindness, as best as we can! Now there was “the old hippie” talking again…ha….ha…but as you surely know: peace and love and understanding is still, and will always be very very important for the human race!
I send you and your loved ones many blessings
Leif
JF Admin.:
Leif -
My wonderful friend. It's nice to read you here on The Flight. You are an enlightened soul my friend and truly this comes through on your work in sound and visuals. I'm still not a 100% on Myspace as I'm still experimenting with my new machine. I'm a bit scared to use it on the unknown parts of the internet ... ha-ha! For now, I'm happy that I'm able to do some visual work on it i.e. --- Visuals on The Flight.
Thank you Leif for reaching out to me all this time. Your kindness shines through and yes, Love, Affection and human kindness if totally understood will see the human race.
Likewise, all the best in the new year to your love ones, your passion for music and visuals ... always take care.
your friend always,
-Julian

I just listened to Dawn Wind - "Your Soul is You Own" .. but who is the actual group? I see now that "Dawn Wind" is a 15th Century poem .. but who are the musicians that you feature on your page?
JF Admin.:
Hi Carlos -
"Dawn Wind" is by UK, independent Artist Ian Neal.
From his CD, "All In The Golden Afternoon". Ian is a friend of The Flight ... also a visual artist, who has been featured here on JF a couple of years back. His musical work is characterized by an array of highly melodic/harmonic crescendoes accompanied by thick instrumentation and spoken word.
Here is his website: www.ianneal.com
'hope this helps Carlos and thanks a world for still checking THE FLIGHT.
always in music,
-Julian

Hi Julian,
I stopped by your site some years ago after seeing your post on Pat Methenys site. At that time one could browse around and look at recommendations... I picked up the Bass Desires CD based on an observation of "Black Is The Colour..." Anywho, saw your post again at PMGLN and came back but there isn't much you can get to any longer. Some how I made it to the guest book. Good luck in your efforts. Regards -m
JF Admin.:
Hello Michael - Thanks for coming back again.
Yes, THE FLIGHT has considerably downsized to mainly streaming over a period of time. This is due mainly to time constraints; updating, looking for new music, working a real job, whilst flying the site solo now.
If you ever hear anything of interest to you in the stream or maybe, anything you'd like to share... please feel free to post your inquiry here.
I'd really love to hear some serious interest in this music I truly love.
Many Thanks Michael
always in music

Hi Julian,
I have for a year or so followed your flight for its unique visual beauty and undoubtedly one of a kind music preference.
However though. On your rolling text in front there has been some smattering of deep deep societal sentiments of political and financial natures. QUESTION. Does this have a place in your beautiful site?
with all due respect
and admiration,
Javier V.
Malaga, Spain
JF ADMIN.:
Hi Javier -
Thanks for the observation.
I'd say that I'm half and half about it ... Somedays, I feel like I have to say something about it ... Somedays, I'm torn. One thing I'm sure abouth though:
BANKS ARE INHUMANE
THIEVING MACHINES!
and I'm never ever going back on this. This is a strong opinion coming from my core.
Now back to music and visuals ... my apologies If it takes away from the site ... but then again, we are a passionate site ... we say a few words but we put a lot to it : )

the internet needs more like this. libby w.
JF Admin.:
Libby -
Thank You. I don't think the Internet as a whole is ready for THE FLIGHT yet. :-)
We have a jillion other things in our book of plans but, me guesses --- it'll be awhile until this commercial mind pollution clears ... maybe in the near millenium or so ... until humans realize that WAR means killing and EQUALITY FOR ALL HUMANS is the ultimate compassion.
Pardon me :-)
... and even though you're new here ... thanks for helping out --- much appreciated.

As always Julian,
The music playing is unparalleled.
Nameless beautiful music
There's a song playing with the clearest
guitar and female voice that makes the
hair in my back go up in awe.
It's a short song almost 3 minutes.
Who is she?
please post

To Julian
Flight Captain Extraordinaire,
Just a little internet postcard of the hotel we stayed at in Santorini. The CD you gave us turned our vacation into one beautiful dream we'll never forget.
Thank You and blessings to you and
your loved ones.

JF Admin.:
-Daniela & Celinna-
Hello dear friends.
Wow ... how time flies.
It's been more than a year ... this is such a nice surprise.
What a beautiful Paradise I see in this picture. The beauty is unreal. Is this you Daniel?
I'm glad you liked the cd.
I can only imagine how a starlit night on this pool patio might have been with that music... *sigh*.
You guys take care and all the best to your pretty princess --- Karen
always,

JONI MITCHELL it's very nice.
i love this song. Not very famous from her and you write for it very impressive. i will again come back, merci!
JF Admin.:
Hi Rene - I'm glad you liked it : ) ... Joni Mitchell is someone whom we look back to time and again. Her music is one of the anchors of our site ... unique and uncopyable style ... it's just hers and hers alone : )
Merci beaucoup as well.
We always have something French in our playlist.
